For 53 years Babbitt’s has been selling fun to people of all ages! We enjoy hearing past and present stories of how powersports has positively impacted their lives after they leave the store; whether it’s a snow trip through the trails, or a daily ride to work on your first motorcycle.

Faith “Zavitz” Thompson, who is employed here at Babbitt’s, remembers very vividly the stories her father, Bart Zavitz shared with her about his “1100.”

A family man, with a huge personality would do anything to make a person smile. When Faith told him she starting working for Babbitt's, he would joke with her “Zavitz” sounds like “Babbitt’s”.

As young man in 1984, Bart had a steady job and decided to stop into Babbitt’s to buy his first toy. Walking into the showroom, it was the Suzuki 1100 that caught his eye. Faith said he would talk of the fun carpets throughout the store and being greeted by Tosh, one of the dogs Ed brought to work with him everyday.

Bart was ecstatic with his new purchase; he rode it everywhere that he could through to the early 90’s. Faith recalls her brother and her taking a ride with their father, when she was about six years old.

A piece of advice Faith shares of her father Bart “There’s nothing to it, but to do it!” If you ever find your self faced with an obstacle, do not make it harder on your self, by overthinking, you’ll just stand in your own way.

We will cherish the memories she has shared with us, as she does with those her father has left for her.
